Hi. I'm garden designer Angela Price from Eden Condensed Small Space Garden Design. I want to talk a little bit about using rocks for edging. There's a lot of different edging materials out there and I like the natural look that rocks or river rocks can add to your yard. This is my blenheim apricot tree and it's planted in the middle of the grass here. So one of the dangers is, is that when the lawn gets mowed, of having the lawn mower running in to the tree. I'm lucky it hasn't happened yet but it can damage the tree if somebody's running in to it with a lawn mower. So having some decorative rocks around the edging just puts up a little bit of a barrier that says hey don't go this far. It also looks attractive in the yard. There's a lot of different rocks out there. You can go to a garden center or to a masonry center where you can buy flagstone, or other rocks and buy rocks. You can sometimes just get a handful of them and they don't cost very much. If you live some place where you're near a riverbed or maybe even your neighbors have them. I lucked out and my neighbor had a bunch of these rocks that she let me have. So we're going to put some of them around the tree. And you can do a lot of different things here. I'm just going to show you a half round here, on this one side here. All this does is it sets up a barrier and I have a little kind of drainage well here where I water the tree. You can also put some other plants or moss around here. Or you can use larger stones as well to mark off a flower bed. That's another thing you can do with the rocks. If you have other questions about how to use rocks in your garden, please contact me at edencondensed.com. Thank you very much.
