DIY Velvet Turban

    • 1). Trim the velvet material so that it is approximately 4 feet in length, enough to tie it several times around your head to make the turban. Find the approximate half way point of the material.

    • 2). Hold the velvet cloth up to your forehead at the middle point of its length so that equal lengths hang down on either side. Twist the velvet material and pull it round to the back of your head and tie at the base of your neck so that the two long lengths trail down your back.

    • 3). Take the two lengths of remaining material and wrap them back around your head towards the front slightly overlapping the layer of material underneath. Cross over at the front and wrap around again to the back of the head.

    • 4). Repeat wrapping from front to back and crossing over, overlapping slightly each time to create a gap-less turban until the whole head is covered. Complete the last wrap at the back of the head and bring the ends of velvet back down to the base of the neck from the top of the head.

    • 5). Tuck the ends under the layers of turban at the bottom on the back so as not to be visible from the front. Any other folds protruding at the top of the head also get tucked under a layer of turban.
