Wooden Pallet Crafts
- Cut two wood plank sections measuring 6 inches long by 4 inches tall for the sides of the birdhouse. Cut two wood plank sections 4 inches long by 4 inches tall for the front and back of the birdhouse. Cut two wood planks slightly larger than the sides for the roof. Drill a hole in the middle of one side with a 2-inch wood spade drill bit. Glue sides, front and back together with wood glue forming a rectangle. Glue roof panels with edges perpendicular to each other, creating an inverted V shape for the roof. Dry according to instructions on the wood glue label. Paint your wooden pallet birdhouse. Run a line of wood glue on the top edge of each wall. Sit roof on top of the birdhouse, press down and allow glue to dry.
- Use reclaimed wooden pallets for large-scale, advanced craft project such as a shed. Line up four pallets side-by-side with wooden planks facing up. Secure pallets together with screws. Repeat three more times, creating four sets of four pallets. Stack one set of four pallets on top of another and secure with screws to create one side of the shed. Repeat with the remaining two sets of attached pallets. Create the back wall with six pallets using the same process, three pallets secured on top of three pallets. Build the front walls using four pallets. Secure one pallet on top of another. Repeat with the remaining two pallets. Secure to the sides with screws leaving a space between the front walls for a doorway. Use additional pallets to frame out the roof.
