How to Fix Leaks on Corrugated Fiberglass Panels

    • 1). Measure the length of the crack, using a tape measure. Spray the area where the the corrugated fiberglass panel is cracked, using household counter cleaner. Wipe the area free of contaminants, using the edge of a soft cloth.

    • 2). Remove the caps from the two tubes of the fiberglass sealant kit. Place each tube, open end down, into one of the dual compartments built into the syringe. Place the syringe stopper over the open end of the dual compartments. Put on kitchen gloves.

    • 3). Place the tip of the syringe against the panel, to one side of the crack. Press down on the stopper as you drag the tip along the length of the crack, dispensing the combined mixture of the two tubes. Stop pressing on the stopper when you reach the other side of the crack. Lift the tip of the syringe off the panel.

    • 4). Cut a strip of clear silicone tape to the measurement that was done earlier, using a scissors. Place the strip of silicone tape over the length of the crack. Press down on the strip to adhere it to the crack. Repeat the procedure just completed with the syringe again.

    • 5). Place the edge of a plastic putty knife against the panel, to one side of the area that was cracked. Press the edge against the panel as you drag it across the length of the cracked area to remove the excess sealant. Lift the putty knife off the panel once you reach the other side of the cracked area.

    • 6). Wipe the edge of the putty knife clean with a paper towel. Dispose of the paper towel in the trash. Remove the stopper from the syringe, then remove the two tubes and replace their caps.Take off the kitchen gloves.
