How to Change the Internal Antenna on a BlackBerry Pearl 8130
- 1). Turn off your BlackBerry and turn the unit over. Remove the back battery cover and remove the battery.
- 2). Insert the tip of your case opener tool underneath the rectangular plastic panel that covers the bottom of the unit. Pry up to pop off the panel.
- 3). Remove the two screws on the bottom corners of the front of the phone. Then remove the two screws on the top corners of the rear of the phone.
- 4). Insert the tip of your case opener tool in the seam where the side plastic panel meets the body of the unit. Work your way around the side of the panel until it pops off. Repeat with the panel on the other side of the BlackBerry.
- 5). Remove the top case of the BlackBerry and then lift the screen and motherboard assembly out of the bottom housing.
- 6). Turn the motherboard assembly over and locate the antenna on the top corner of the underside of the board.
- 7). Unplug the antenna from the board and fit a new one in its place. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
