    • 1). Power on the computer and open a program capable of extracting and burning the audio track from a DVD. Use a program such as DVD Audio Extractor, Blaze Media Pro, or DVD Audio Ripper. Download and install one of these programs if you do not already have one on the computer.

    • 2). Insert the DVD from which you wish to rip the audio. Open the computer's disc drive, insert the DVD and close the drive. Wait for the DVD audio program to recognize the disc.

    • 3). Adjust the program's settings. If you are using DVD Audio Extractor, select the DVD chapters from which you wish to extract audio, click "Next," choose "MP3" as the audio output format and select a bit rate of at least 128 kbps before you click "Next." If you are using Blaze Media Pro, choose the Video Audio Extractor from the list of programs, use the button with the green arrow to locate the DVD video file on your computer and click on the MP3 tab, adjusting the bit rate to at least 128 kbps. In DVD Audio Ripper, click the "DVD" button on the sidebar to locate your DVD file on your hard drive, select "MP3" from the "Format" section in the bottom right hand corner, choose an output folder, and select an option for splitting up the audio tracks.

    • 4). Extract and convert the DVD audio. In DVD Audio Extractor, select an output location for your MP3 file by clicking the icon of the folder with a magnifying glass, click "Next," and click "Start" to begin the extracting and encoding process. If you are using Blaze Media Pro, click the button with the red arrow to choose an output destination for your MP3 and click the icon with a film strip to begin the encoding process. If you are using DVD Audio Ripper, click "Start" to begin ripping the audio.

    • 5). Test the MP3 file. Wait for the ripping and encoding process to complete and locate the new MP3 files on your hard drive. Play the files using a media player to make sure that there were not any errors made during the ripping or encoding processes.
