How to Tell If Your Uggs Are Real
- 1). Look at the label. Real Ugg boots have the special label stitched to the heel. Fake Ugg boots imitate this label. Look for uneven stitching, misspellings and misinformation. Also, inside labels are faked as well. If the Uggs in question have blue labels, they are most likely fake. If the label says anything except "Made in China," the boots are fake. However, real Uggs should have Australia written below the Ugg label on the inside and outside of the boot.
- 2). Look at the price. Real Uggs are very expensive, at least $150 depending on where you live. If the Uggs you want seem to be selling at a deal that is too good to be true, it most likely is.
- 3). Smell the boots. It might seem weird, but smelling the boots is a good way to sniff out a fake. Fake Ugg boots are treated with chemicals and dye, making them smell a bit like paint. Real Uggs are odorless.
- 4). Feel the fur. Real Uggs are made from sheepskin, while imitation Uggs are made from synthetic fur. Sheepskin is fluffy, soft and beige. The synthetic fur feels a bit prickly and is a different color.
