Apple Cider Vinegar

• Apple cider vinegar contains high levels of acid, and has a pH similar to the skin's acid mantle--the very thin outermost layer that balances out the oils in the skin and kills off bacteria. This acid mantle can become damaged due to the use of soaps and facial creams, and must be re-established in order to prevent acne breakouts. Fill a clean spray bottle with undiluted apple cider vinegar, and spray the face thoroughly after washing. You can use apple cider vinegar up to two times per day to prevent acne.
  
  

Baking Soda

• Baking soda kills bacteria, particularly the Candida bacteria, which can cause treatment-resistant acne on the skin. Acne that is caused by Candida will sometimes not respond to benzoyl peroxide creams and lotions, making it difficult to eliminate. Mix baking soda with a drizzle of water to form a soft paste. Apply the paste to the skin, using circular motions to exfoliate and treat the skin. After 30 seconds, rinse well with water. A baking soda toner can be created by adding 1 tbsp. of baking soda with 1 cup of water. Splash the toner onto your face after washing. You can use baking soda up to twice per day to effectively reduce acne blemishes on the skin.
  
  

Calamine Lotion

• Calamine lotion is a traditional treatment for rashes and itchy conditions, like bug bites, chicken pox, poison oak and allergic skin reactions. Calamine lotion also make a highly effective, natural treatment for acne pustules and cysts. Made from the mineral Calamine, the lotion form can dry up acne blemishes without irritating the skin. Mix the Calamine lotion well, then squeeze a little bit onto a cotton swab. Apply the Calamine lotion directly to the acne, and let it dry. Let the lotion remain on the skin overnight, and rinse it off with warm water in the morning. You should use Calamine lotion only once per day, as it is naturally drying.
