- 1). Look for Japanese medical centers in your area or speak to a practitioner of Japanese Kampo about possible treatment options for acne and acne scars. A practitioner or medical center may recommend a variety of herbal treatments for both internal and external use as well as energy therapies, such as Shiatsu massage or acupuncture.
- 2). Purchase TJ-50, also known as Keigai-rengyo-to, at your local Japanese medical center or online. TJ-50 is an acne remedy made up of 17 different healing herbs that are used in traditional Japanese medical circles for their anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which help to promote healing of scars and reduce the occurrence of acne outbreaks. Make sure that you follow the manufacturer's instructions for dosage information.
- 3). Use an extract made from mint (Mentha arvensis) to help prevent acne and treat acne scars.
