Spraygrounds Cool Off the Kids in Summer

No matter where I go, no matter who I talk to, we are all dealing with the same things.
We, as moms that is.
The mom who lives out West who has bought stock in wrinkle cream and paba free sunscreen...
the mom who lives out East who has figured out every possible way to keep an insect off her child, the Mid-Westerners who...
(please contribute).
We, no matter what zip code we live in, are all in the same boat.
We all have learned over time that the best way to get rid of a dirty diaper is to throw it in a Target bag and triple knot it...
that the best Summer clothes for our kids are really no clothes at all, and that as long as the kids are dressed for school, nobody would ever guess that they may have skipped the normal daily hygiene routine.
We have all been there.
We have all looked our children in the eye at one point in their lives and said "fine, you can have it...
just whatever will make you leave me alone for awhile.
" We have learned to pick our battles and we have grown as a result of the those battles.
We are moms and, no matter how different we are, we are on the same team.
And this teammate, as I'm sure all the others, would love to learn all the different plays.
So, moms here and there and all around this country that we call home, the baton has been passed, please help us cross that finish line.
Here is one of my contributions to the cause.
I have learned that raising kids in the deep South (AKA "Hotlanta") becomes quite a sweaty mess once summer hits.
Other than hooking up the old sprinkler in the front yard, there aren't many options to stay cool.
So, I had to do a bit of research in order to find cool spots to frequent with the kids when the thermometer is up.
During my research, I came across a thing known as a Sprayground.
Also known as Splash Pads, Squirt Zones, Splash Zones.
You get the idea.
Well, this idea is simply a playground that adds water to the equation.
What an ingenious idea! Two things kids love most, all in one.
Plus, as anxious as I am about accidents, you don't have to worry about your children being in deeper water.
Also, there is usually only $1 charge for admission.
Sign me up! So, I decided to throw the kids in the car and go on a Sprayground adventure.
Because what's better than a chance to sit down in the shade, read a magazine, while watching your kids live it up Sprayground style? I can't think of anything.
