How to Remove Gray Marks From Your Dishes
- 1). Choose a slightly abrasive, but still gentle, cleaner to remove the gray marks. The manufacturer of your dishes may have its own line of cleaning products with one specific for gray marks. You can also make your own cleaning paste, according to Heloise, by mixing water and baking soda.
- 2). Dab a little bit of cleaner on a clean rag and rub it into an inconspicuous area of your dishes, such as on the bottom. Rub it in gently and rinse well. Examine the dish to make sure the cleaner did not scratch the finish. If it did, try another product. If it didn't scratch the surface, proceed to the next step.
- 3). Remove one gray mark by dabbing a little bit of the cleaner on a rag and rubbing it in gently. Rinse. If the gray mark is removed, clean all the marks in this manner. Rinse your dishes well when finished. If it didn't, try another product, but test in an inconspicuous area first.
