How to Hang a Ribbon Organizer
- 1). Measure the back of the organizer where the holes for hanging the piece are located. Ribbon organizers are meant for hanging, so there will be two spots in the back to hang the organizer on nails.
- 2). Choose a location to hang your organizer. The organizers and ribbon are lightweight, but it's still a good idea to hang the organizer on a stud in the wall. You can find the stud by simply knocking on the wall--if you hear a solid knock on the wall, that's the stud; if you hear a hallow knock, that is the space in between the studs.
- 3). Transfer your measurements to the wall. Put two small notches (made with a pencil) on the wall to denote the space in between the hanging holes on the organizer.
- 4). Place one nail up to one of the penciled notches. Hammer it in until only a quarter of the nail is visible.
- 5). Nail the second nail into the second notch. Note: even though the ribbon organizer is lightweight, if you have plaster walls it's best to add an anchors in the wall with screw as opposed to nails. You simply hammer the anchors into the walls. Then screw the screws directly into the anchors. This will offer more stability and support to the organizer.
- 6). Line up the organizer's holes with the nails. Slide the organizer onto the nails. Place a level on the organizer to ensure it is straight.
- 7). Place all of your ribbons on to the organizer. Place the ribbon spools so that the ribbon is over (not under) the spool--this will allow the ribbon to hang off of the spool and organizer for easy access.
