How to Make a Keychain Out of Fabric
- 1). Cut a 12-by-2-inch piece from both fat quarters. Fold all four edges of both strips of fabric 1/4 inch to the wrong side. Iron all the folds. Fold the two pieces of fabric in half lengthways with the right sides of the fabric facing out, and iron these folds as well.
- 2). Place the two strips of fabric together so the open edge of one strip lines up with the folded edge of the other, and vice versa. Sew the two strips together along the long edges with a 1/8-inch seam allowance.
- 3). Thread fabric strip through the loop of the swivel clip. Bring the ends of the strip together, and sew them with a 1/8-inch seam allowance. Turn the fabric piece so the seam allowance is on the inside.
- 4). Move the clip to the end of the fabric loop with the seam. Sew the two sides of the fabric loop together as close to the clip as possible, to trap the clip at that end of the loop.
- 5). Put the clip on a plain key ring.
