How to Make Bows With the E-Z Bow Maker
- 1). Cut a 12-inch length of craft wire using wire cutters. Place the wire between the dowels on the E-Z Bow Maker with an equal amount extending from each side. This is to tie your bow together and will not be needed until the bow has been constructed.
- 2). Place your ribbon, with the correct side facing up, between the dowels. The distance from the left end of the ribbon to the dowels will be the length of your streamers.
- 3). Twist the ribbon a half-turn at the dowel on the right side. The ribbon on the right will be wrong-side up.
- 4). Measure from the dowel twice the length of your desired loops. Bring the ribbon back to the dowels and slip it in between. The fold has created the loop and is now facing right-side up.
- 5). Twist the ribbon a half-turn at the dowel on the left side. The ribbon on the left will be wrong-side up.
- 6). Continue bringing the ribbon back to and between the dowels, alternating right and left, and making a half-turn at the dowel on the opposite side, until the bow has the desired number of loops on each side. If you would like the layers of your bow to taper upward, gradually decrease the size of each new pair of loops.
- 7). Push down the layers of ribbon between the dowels. Bring the ends of the wire around the ribbon, cinch tightly and twist to secure.
- 8). Fan out each loop to shape the bow. Remove the bow from the bow maker. Cut the ribbon end the same length as your beginning streamer.
