    • 1). Plug one side of the RCA cables into the "Out" ports on the back of your DVD player. The ports on the back of your DVD player are also colored. Simply match each prong of the cable with the same colored port of the back of your DVD player with the "Out" designation beside it.

    • 2). Place your DVD player in the area where you plan to use it and plug it into the wall.

    • 3). Take the other end of the RCA cables and plug them into the "In" ports on front or back of your television. Many televisions have ports on both the front and the back. if you intend on leaving your DVD player connected permanently, selecting the back ports is typically a better choice. Your television will also have the ports color coded. Simply connect the prongs of the RCA cable to the appropriate ports on your TV.

    • 4). Start using your new DVD player. On many newer televisions you will need to press the "Input" button on your remote control or the television itself in order to access the player. Older televisions will usually automatically assign the RCA ports to a channel below 1, which you can access by simply pressing the channel down button once you are on channel 1.
