How to Deal With a Crush
Instructions
1Find out if this person likes you back. You will drive yourself crazy if you keep this to yourself and do nothing but wonder. No matter what the truth is, knowing it is always better than knowing nothing.
2
Do whatever you feel comfortable with to find this out. If you have to go the route of secret letters or getting your friends to ask for you, fine. But you'll be a lot better off being up front and asking yourself.
3
Start learning to move on the moment you realize this person is not interested in you. Hanging on to your feelings much longer and trying to find some way to change this person's mind will only make things worse.
4
Avoid as much contact with this person as you can for a while. If you're in school and this means new paths in the halls and a faraway desk in class, do it. You'll want to avoid as many awkward moments as possible.
5
Get another interest as quickly as you can. This doesn't have to be a romantic interest. Get back in touch with your friends, take up a hobby--do anything to get your mind somewhere else.
6
Remember that if this is like most crushes, you'll be over it sooner than you think.
