How to Install an Outside TV Antenna Amplifier
- 1). Mount your pre-amplifier to the antenna mast with a u-bolt.
- 2). Run a small piece of RG6 coax cable from the antenna to the pre-amp. Connect one end of the coax cable to the coax connector on the base of the antenna, and connect the other end of the coax cable to the "Antenna In" coax connector on the pre-amp.
- 3). Slide a rubber boot over the connectors on both ends. A rubber boot helps protect your connectors against snow, rain and ice.
- 4). Connect a coax cable to the "Antenna Out" coax connector on the pre-amplifier and run that cable to the junction box that connects your antenna cable to the rest of the coax cables in your house.
- 5). Attach a power supply or a distribution amp to the line by connecting the coax to the "Input" connector. You can connect the rest of your cables to the "Output" connectors to run to the rest of your house.
