Repairing Snags in Leather Coats

    • 1). Cut a piece of strong fabric, such as felt or leather, large enough to create a patch that will completely cover the tear in your leather coat.

    • 2). Apply a coat of super glue or fabric glue to almost the entire surface of the patch. You can leave the edges and corners of the patch bare to conserve glue.

    • 3). Turn the coat inside out if the tear goes all the way through the coat. Then press the glued side of the patch onto the inside of the coat, covering the tear. Make sure you hold the two sides of the tear together tightly when you apply the patch so that no gap is present.

    • 4). Place one corner of the patch into the tear, and then the other, if the tear does not go all the way through the coat. Be careful not to get glue on any part of the coat beside the inside when you slip the patch in between the leather and the coat's lining.

    • 5). Wait for the glue to dry before wearing your newly repaired coat.
