    • 1). Verify that the dispenser is plugged in if the water isn't hot. Push the plug completely into the outlet. Check that the household breakers haven't tripped or that the fuses haven't blown. Replace the fuse or reset the breakers. You may want to try the GE water dispenser on a different circuit if you have too many appliances plugged into the circuit.

    • 2). Replace the water bottle if there's no water in it. Allow thirty minutes for the water to heat or cool.

    • 3). Reset the temperature limiter switches. GE water dispensers have built-in safety mechanisms. Turn the hot and cold power switches on the back of the dispenser to the "off" position. Wait five minutes, and then turn them back on. The temperature limiter will have been reset. Allow thirty minutes for the water to become hot.

    • 4). Dispense cold water until air is released into the bottle, if the bottle feels hot to the touch. The water system is overfilled. Water is boiling in the hot tank and then being distributed to the bottle.
