    • 1). Open the carabiner and remove the keyring. Hold one end of each paracord together in one hand. Fold the two paracords in half to find the centers. Cross the two cords at their center with the red cord vertical and the blue cord horizontal, and on top of the red cord. Hold the two cords with your thumb and forefinger.

    • 2). Thread the blue cord through the keyring and place the ring between the blue cord and the red cord. Continue to hold the cords and the keyring with your thumb and forefinger.

    • 3). Take the right end of the blue cord and bring it under the red cord. Take the left end and bring it under the red cord, and draw both ends until the blue cord is wrapped snugly around the red cord. This is one half of the braid.

    • 4). Take the upper red cord and the bottom red cord and take them under the blue cord and draw the ends tight to wrap the red cord around the blue cord. This is the second half of the braid.

    • 5). Repeat the two halves of the braid three times. Work the braid tight by pulling on the free ends of the cord. Continue repeating the halves of the braid and work it tight after each set of braids until the desired length of the necklace is reached. Keep the braid even and tight.

    • 6). Hold the braid so that the loose ends of the cords are up. Cross the two blue cords about 1 inch above the braid. Take the end of the cord that crosses behind the other and pass it through the front of the loop formed by the crossing cords to form an overhand knot.

    • 7). Open the carabiner and clip it onto the loop formed by the overhand knot. Draw the knot tight around the narrow end of the carabiner, then make a second overhand knot over the first. The keyring and carabiner clip together make a clasp for the necklace.
