How to Make Long Hair Look Good With Gel
- 1). Shampoo and condition your hair. Pat your hair dry with a towel and apply a small dab of hair gel at the roots, working it down the length of your hair.
- 2). Take individual strands and work a tiny amount of gel around each strand that you want to highlight. This will give you a piecey, separated look.
- 3). Rub a small dab of hair gel between your fingers and comb it through the roots of your hair to shape the hair around your face. This will give you height and volume.
- 4). Use a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer to set the gel in place. Direct the diffuser where you've applied the gel: the individual strands and around your face. Do this for a few minutes and leave the rest of your hair to air dry.
- 1). Take a dime-size amount of gel to start and work it through your hair, starting on the roots. Do this on bone dry, clean hair.
- 2). Work a small amount of gel in at the tips of your hair to reduce the appearance of split ends.
- 3). Use a hairdryer to set the gel – there's no need to use the diffuser attachment when doing the "dry look." Flip your hair back and forth a few times for extra body.
