How to Glue Upholstery Foam
- 1). Cover your work surface with newspapers or another protective coating.
- 2). Cut the foam pieces to the desired shape and size with scissors. Line up the sides in the configuration that you want to glue the foam pieces together. Make sure the pieces fit in the desired manner.
- 3). Spray both pieces of foam that you want to glue together. Apply a steady spray of glue and cover the foam surfaces completely. Allow the glue to become tacky by waiting for about 10 to 20 seconds.
- 4). Align the two pieces of foam. Press the foam together holding each section in place for about 10 seconds before moving to the next section of foam. Pinch the edges of the foam pieces together and hold for about 20 seconds.
- 5). Allow the glue to dry for five minutes before moving the foam, and allow the glue to cure overnight for a stable bond between the foam pieces.
