How to Make a Wax Candle With Seashells
- 1). Fill the bottom of the double boiler about halfway with water and place it over low heat. Bring the water to a low simmer.
- 2). Break or cut the wax into small chunks that will fit in the top of the double boiler. If you do not have a traditional double boiler, use an empty coffee can set in the simmering water; bend the top edge to make a pour spout.
- 3). Heat the pan over low heat until the wax melts completely.
- 4). Stir in and melt a crayon for color and add scented oil for fragrance, if desired.
- 5). Spray the mold with cooking spray.
- 6). Center the metal end of a wick in the mold. Wrap the other end around a pen or pencil and balance it on the top of the mold to make pouring easier. You can simply hold the end of the wick, if you prefer.
- 7). Fill the mold with small seashells. Another option is to fill the bottom half with shells and leave the top for plain wax.
- 8). Pour the wax over the shells slowly and carefully, keeping the wick in the center.
- 9). Allow the wax to cool completely.

Slide the candle from the mold. - 1). Melt paraffin in the double boiler, keeping the heat low.
- 2). Add color and fragrance as desired.
- 3). Place the metal end of the wick in the bottom of a shell. For large shells, add several wicks, if desired.
- 4). Pour the wax into the shell. Allow it to cool completely.
