    • 1). Dampen the towel with vinegar. Then grab one end of the towel and wave it around the rooms you want to deodorize. This should quickly clear the air of fireplace odors.

    • 2). Pour vinegar into shallow bowls and set them around your house for long-term smell removal. Fill each bowl about 3/4 full.

    • 3). Begin by placing bowls in the rooms that smell the strongest of smoke. Use one bowl for each small room, and two bowls for larger rooms. The smell from the fireplace smoke should disappear in less than a day's time.
