Type: Tree

Native to: The Amazon area in South America

Fruit: The fruit will be round or oval and 1.5-4" long. The skin is yellow and the flesh is white. Each fruit can carry 1-4 seeds. Fruit must be fully ripened before using as it contains latex until that point.

Height: 30'+; can reach over 100' tall in the right conditions.

Hardiness: This is a tropical tree and will be killed if temperatures fall below freezing.

Propagation: Abius are grown from seed, grafted or budded.

Uses: The abiu is eaten fresh. It can also be used in ice creams, ices and sorbets.
