Decorating with Greenery in the Home

As you begin to decorate your house with greenery, first decide on the size of the plants you plan to add. When you add plants to larger coffee tables and to dining room and kitchen tables, choose plants that are 1-2 feet high. You probably want something with wider leaves to attract the eye and the attention of the visitor. On the other hand, decorating for a corner will require more vertical movement and longer leaves to make it pop more for the viewer. It just goes to show that good planning is the secret to a well decorated home. Finally, remember that there are some notable benefits to silk plants: not only do they look realistic, but they do not require a lot of extra care and their lifetime is three times greater than that of real plants.

Decorating for the Winter Season

Like each other season, winter can be a beautiful season to decorate for. Keep in mind as you decorate with plants and other foliage how the changes in weather and temperature will affect them. The most basic elements that exist in winter decor, or winter decorations, are pine trees, firs, branches of trees, or very unique flowers that thrive on a winter environment. Inevitably your winter decorations will involve Christmas colors and elements, including wreaths and garlands. You can use many of these items, with small changes or embellishments, throughout the winter season.

The Endless Diversity of Artificial Trees

Many people find it surprising to see that there are literally hundreds of styles of silk trees to choose from. The most well-known silk tree is the pine tree (Christmas tree). There are also many unique varieties you may not have had the chance to consider. One of these is the banana tree. These trees have very thick, long leaves and look almost like a palm tree. A very diverse look from this is the bonsai tree, whose leaves are tiny and very intricate by comparison. These trees are obtainable in many different arrangements and designs. One fantastic option that is often overlooked is use decorative artificial grasses. The more you get to look at and experiment with different alternatives, the more likely you are to hit on just the right design for your home.

Green Dcor

One of the foundations of a properly decorated home is creating the right mood. Furniture pieces, colors, textures, and styles help mold a room and set that mood. For those who enjoy an earth based or natural mood in at least one room, adding greenery is an absolute necessity. There are many styles, sizes and shapes of greenery available, but you will want to choose one appropriate for the space you have available. Ensuring that you have one to two feet of space above the tree makes the room feel more spacious and airy. You will also want the branches to be able to fit naturally in the area. Plants come in many shapes and sizes if you are planning on having a tabletop display, a shorter plant like a bonsai tree would be perfect. One way to spruce up the corners of your rooms is to hang a plant from the ceiling. The lack of sunlight is not a limitation on greenery if you choose to use artificial plants; as long as you choose a quality piece, the look will still be very realistic.
