How do I Keep a Window Frame Square When Installing New Screening?
- 1). Use a circular saw and the saw horses to cut the eight-foot length of 2-by-4 into one-foot sections.
- 2). Set the two saw horses so that they are parallel and about five feet apart.
- 3). Place the piece of plywood squarely on top of the saw horses.
- 4). Place the window on the plywood and use a pencil to mark each corner. Draw a one-foot long line on each side of each corner.
- 5). Set the one-foot pieces of 2-by-4 on each corner, with the inside edge of each piece even with the lines you drew.
- 6). Screw the pieces of 2-by-4 to the plywood using an electric drill with a driver bit and two 2-1/2 inch screws per piece. When finished, you should have four corners on the piece of plywood made from the 2-by-4s that will hold the window frame square while re-screening.
