How to Cut a Bamboo Plant
- 1). Examine your bamboo garden for any dead or dying shoots. Bamboo is an extremely hardy plant so there probably won't be too many instances of disease.
- 2). Select which bamboo shoots you want to trim out. Any bamboo shoots that are deemed unattractive or out of place are prime targets for pruning.
- 3). Cut the bamboo shoot off at ground level. Do not worry about over-pruning bamboo; all the stalks are interconnected by a rhizome network underground and can survive even the most overzealous use of pruning shears.
