Introduction and Materials
These earrings are whimsical but not too over the top that you will feel too goofy wearing them to the office or holiday party.
You'll need:
*2 - 20x30mm lampwork holly leaves
*2 - 12mm round beads with holly accents
4 - 4mm fire polished red crystals
6 inches of 21-gauge dead-soft sterling wire
2 sterling ear hooks
Wire cutters
Round-nosed pliers
Chain-nosed pliers
*Lampwork beads supplied by DD Hess
Connect Wire to Leaf
1. Cut about 3 inches of wire off, and in a very similar method to wrapping a briolette bead, connect the loop on top of the leaf bead to the wire. If you want your leaf to have some movement (as in be able to swing a little back and forth) make sure to keep the wire that goes through the top of the leaf a little lose. I used my round-nosed pliers to bend the wire before I slipped it through the top of the leaf.
2. Now thread on one 4mm red crystal, one round lampwork holly bead, and another 4mm red crystal onto the wire that's attached to the leaf.
3. Make a wrapped loop at the top of the wire, and attach your ear hooks.
4. Repeat all of the previous steps to make a second earring.
