What web hosting is the best?
Web hosting today is overall very dependable and cheap. In the last five years or so, many upgrades have been made to hosting servers worldwide, and it's almost hard to find a hosting provider that won't mostly satisfy you. That being said, there are some that I believe to be better than others. I have had experience with three of them myself, and in this article I will review each of them. The hosting providers I have used are HostGator, JustHost, and IPage.
HostGator - This is actually the first hosting company I ever hosted with. It is fairly well rounded and offers all the features you need with 24/7 support. I never had a problem with downtime while with them. The reason I left is because of a technical issue I had which I had trouble solving myself. You do not want to ever use their live chat support feature. Each time I tried, I was connected with someone who didn't have the slightest clue what I was talking about. I didn't ask for anything complicated, but they just couldn't figure out what to do, and this is HostGator's major downside. I've also heard people complain that they have blocked GoogleBot before, which is just insane.
JustHost - I don't have much experience with these guys, but I would say definitely avoid them. For the month I was with JustHost, I had constant downtime issues. I read reviews from around the internet on them, and apparently almost all of their customers have the same problem. They offer great features and everything, but if you get any decent amount of traffic I would stay away.
IPage - IPage is a fairly young company. They aren't small by any means, but I honestly hadn't heard of them until a few months ago. I signed up for a year of service and so far could not be happier. They provide all the features I need (like almost all hosting companies), and I've never had any problems with downtime. Your support tickets will be returned within an hour usually which is great, and their employees actually have some technical prowess. But the best part about IPage is that I received a year of hosting for just $3 a month, no more. You can't beat the bang for the buck with these guys.
Overall Id have to say that IPage gets my vote for the current best web hosting company. I can't compare them to any of the others out there that I haven't tried, but Id be willing to bet that they could compete with any of them and hold their own.
