    • 1). Cut two rectangular 12 by 12-inch panels from the medium-density fiberboard (MDF) with a circular saw. These are the front and back panels of the box.

    • 2). Cut two rectangular 12 by 18-inch panels from the medium-density fiberboard (MDF) with a circular saw. These are the top and bottom panels of the box.

    • 3). Cut two rectangular 12 by 17-inch panels from the medium-density fiberboard (MDF) with a circular saw. These are the side panels of the box.

    • 4). Assemble the side, top and bottom panels together, with the ends of the top and bottom panels overlapping the edges of the side panels. Check your dimensions around the perimeter. It should measure 12 inches on each side. Attach the panels together with wood screws.

    • 5). Place the front and back panels onto the box with wood screws.

    • 6). Cut a centered opening for the speaker you'll be mounting in the box in the front panel with a jigsaw.

    • 7). Drill a hole in the rear of the box for the speaker wire.

    • 8). Insert the speaker wire in the box from the outside and pull it out the front. Attach the wire to your speaker and place the speaker in the opening. Attach with wood screws.
