How to Repair a Sticky Automatic Camera Lens Cover
- 1). Blow compressed air into the lines of the camera lens cover, where it generally separates to take a picture. Conversely, you can also use a hair dryer to blow a similar blast of air.
- 2). Slide the corner of a piece of paper between the lens cover and the surrounding support circle. Move the paper all around this area to push out any accumulated dust or dirt.
- 3). Point the camera toward the floor. Turn on and off repeatedly, which causes the camera lens to extend and retract. Tap the side of the lens barrel with a pen or pencil to dislodge any dust or dirt so that it will fall out.
- 4). Rub the lens with a soft cloth soaked in methyl alcohol to remove any residual dust, dirt or fingerprints from the cleaning.
