Bachelor of Design (Interior Design)

• Bachelor of Design is a 36-month program offered by the Raffles Design International in Mumbai. The degree is awarded by the Raffles College of Design and Commerce, Australia, and the admissions take place four times a year; October, January, April and July. The program covers concepts such as theory of interior design, design process, technical and graphical aspects relating to interior designing. Successful completion of the program can lead to a student becoming a commercial interior designer, furniture designer, design consultant, exhibition designer, lighting designer, design educator, residential interior designer, or institutional interior designer.
  
  

Advanced Diploma in Interior Design

• This is a 15-month program offered by the Meteor Institute of Digital Design Studies, Mumbai. The program covers areas of study such as commercial design, residential design, retail design, restaurant design, furniture & culture, ecologically sustainable design, design career strategies, vastu design and project research and development. Vastu designs are based on certain ancient Indian nature laws relating to building construction and placement. The program puts emphasis on space planning, creative problem-solving, knowledge of building materials, history of design, and computer-aided drafting. Design consultant, exhibition designer and lighting designer are some of the career opportunities that students can explore on successful completion of the course.
  
  

Certificate in Interior Decoration Design

• This is a one-year training program offered by the Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai. The program covers concepts like evolution of design, materials and methods of manufacture, design patterns from the primitive to renaissance days and other fundamentals of design. It covers practical problems relating to interior schemes and designs for offices, homes and shops. Admission into this program is through an entrance test and a personal interview.
  
  

Diploma in Interior Design

• This diploma course offered by the Instituti Callegari Milano, Mumbai, is suitable for participants who are working in the industrial and handicraft businesses and design studios and are willing to upgrade their designing skills. The course would provide in-depth knowledge of concepts like exhibit design, interior planning, furnishings and accessories. The length of the course is 162 hours and successful completion would award the students with a certificate, which would qualify them as interior designers. The successful candidates can either work for design studios, furniture display exhibitions, or work as freelancers.
