How to Connect an AV Cable to a Component Jack
- 1). Connect the AV cable to the source device. The actual AV cable may vary. It might be the standard green, blue and red cables plugged into the Video Out port. However, video games might use a wide cable that plugs directly into the Component Out port. The other end of the cable also has component cables, so you can connect it to a component jack.
- 2). Plug the component end of the cables into the component jacks. Make sure the colored cables are inserted into the same colored ports. Each of the three cables provide a different aspect to the video. The connection is also far superior to RCA, S-video and coaxial cable connections.
- 3). Run audio cables from the two devices if you want audio. Plug the red and white RCA cables into the Audio Out ports on the source device, then plug the other end of the cables into the Audio In ports.
- 4). Power on the two AV devices. You can now view the contents of the source equipment on the audio/video device to which you have it connected.
