How to Build a Wall Bulletin Board
- 1). Measure the wall. Get the length and width of your wall. Cork is typically sold in sheets and you will need to know how many you will need to finish this project.
- 2). Cut the cork to fit. Use as many full sheets of cork as you can, but if you are left with an area that won't take a full sheet, measure your cork to fit, and cut it with an X-ACTO knife. It is best to leave a little left over on the edge that can be trimmed later. It is much better to have too much cork than not enough.
- 3). Hang the first sheet of cork. Work from one corner of the wall to the other side. Line up the cork at the top of the wall and pound in an upholstery nail at each of the corners to hold it up. Do the same with the bottom of the cork. Repeat this until all the sheets of cork are hung. Trim the last panel if necessary.
- 4). Pound in the remaining upholstery nails. Measure out 2 inches between every nail and pound them in on the sides, the tops and the bottoms of each cork sheet. This will give the room a unique style. If you prefer, you can just use the upholstery nails on the tops and bottoms of the sheets to hold them in place.
- 5). Accessorize your new bulletin board wall. Place a banner in the center and leave several push pins stuck into the wall for future use.
