How to Lash a Plant Teepee
- 1). Push the six teepee supports, which are usually bamboo stakes or other thin sticks, into the soil in a circle around the planting area. Keep at least 6 inches between the poles, and insert them into the soil at least 6 inches deep.
- 2). Hold two supports that are opposite each other and bring the tops to meet in the middle. Pull the next two poles that are opposite each other into the middle, and then the last two.
- 3). Wrap the poles with a piece of twine, just under where they all meet in the middle of the circle. Wrap the twine around the poles twice, then tie a knot in the twine. Continue wrapping the twine twice and tying a not, repeating this five times.
- 4). Cut the loose end of the twine from the ball. Tuck the loose end into the twine on the teepee.
