Opportunity Knocks - Even When We Don"t Answer
The whole world is moving and I'm standing still...
The night is here and the day is gone...
And the world spins madly on ~ The Weepies How many times have you felt this way? Stuck in an un-requested economic state.
Standing still, while your mind races and your hopes soar.
Controlling your head and heart with patience.
Allowing ideas to swirl around you in a tornado of progress.
Breathing slowly in and out, closing your eyes to remain centered.
Opening them sometimes to the overwhelming panorama of potential that you see in this world every day.
Seeking to find answers to the questions reflected back to you in the eyes of those you encounter.
What an adventure life can be.
While this doesn't exactly sound like opportunity, I believe it is.
By opening yourself up to flow, learning yet again to listening to the small whispers of your heart, life has a way of working out.
Maybe this seems trite or watered down, but isn't it true? When you're pushing forward, working hard, there are a few certainties.
There is no need to worry over the end of your idea film tugging at its reel.
No need to worry about how the next step will look or whether it will cause a crack in your foundation.
Just listen with your heart.
Have a keen awareness of how your choices make you feel.
Practice gratitude for the words of loved ones that sink into your soul.
Be grateful to be a witness of the loving gestures around you each day..
..
and they are present, we all just need to open our eyes wider.
What a journey these feet take us on.
During the hot summer, when our attention span wanes and our playful spirits emerge, our opportunities are knocking.
Explore the potential that is behind the door.
Allow the day dreams to offer important information.
Journal about your daily gratitude.
Take time to breathe.
Listen to your heart as it gently tugs you forward.
Be present in your moments - from conversations to how your meal tastes and every moment in between.
You will find opportunity there.
In days past and days to come, I've been centered enough to live within those experiences where I claim a desire to do something and people are practically falling over themselves to make it happen.
Reminder after reminder pours into my inbox from unsuspecting places.
How-to books jump off the shelves at me.
Critical resources are suddenly recommended to me time and time again.
I love and cherish these moments because I know that they sacred gifts that are not given 100% of the time.
It's a curious time in one's life where you can't turn away from a dream.
It's hounding you and it will not be ignored! No matter how hard you try.
Every corner you turn, it's lurking and waiting to stare you right in the face.
Ever been there? Perhaps it's time to stare back.
Look that beast right in the eye and do something about it already! You said you wanted it, now the Universe is asking you to prove that you really DO in fact want "it.
" So...
what's your "I want" statement? Write it down big and bold and lively and put it somewhere you can see it.
Before I go any further, I want you to know that life doesn't seek you out so diligently unless you have something very special to offer.
In fact, life doesn't seek you out period unless you have something very special to offer, which is great news for you seeing as though you are a living, breathing, reading being encountering this newsletter! So, whether you are in the storm, or facing the beauty of the receding clouds into the sunset - stand tall, shoulders back, chin up, eyes sparkling with the knowledge that you have something important to share with the world.
You don't have to know what it is yet.
You don't even have to have a plan of how it will be shared.
Your purest responsibility is to be every bit of you that you can be.
If you want to wiggle your toes in the grass, then kick off your shoes! If your words flow forth faster than you can speak them, start typing.
If your arms offer solace and warmth to others who feel lost and cold, then open them wide.
Be who you are.
Live your truth.
Listen to the whispers.
