    Garage Door or Gate

    • 1). Press the I, II or III HomeLink button you wish to have open the garage door or gate. Continue to hold the button down until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly. Once it's flashing you can release the button. HomeLink is now ready to be trained and will provide you with up to five minutes to complete the process.

    • 2). Point the original garage door or gate transmitter 3 to 5 inches from the driver's side headlight, while standing in front of the vehicle. Press and hold the original transmitter's button down. The Audi S4 hazard warning lights will blink three times when the training is successful. If the training exceeds five minutes or fails, the hazard lights will blink once. You will need to start over with Step 1 if this occurs.

    • 3). Enter the Audi S4 and hold the HomeLink button you just trained. If the indicator light is continuously solid, the training of the HomeLink button has been completed successfully. The garage door or gate should open and close with the HomeLink button. If the HomeLink indicator light rapidly blinks for two seconds and then shows a continuous solid light, additional training for a rolling code device will be required.

    • 4). Locate the "smart" or "learn" button on the garage door opener receiver, often located near the hanging antenna wire. The name and location of this button will vary by the manufacturer; refer to the owners manual for additional details if needed.

    • 5). Press and release the "learn" button. Once released there are 30 seconds to return to the Audi S4 and hold the HomeLink button you are programming for two seconds, then release. Repeat the hold and release procedure up to three times to complete the rolling code training process; this may be more easily accomplished with a second person assisting. The HomeLink button selected in Step 1 should now be programmed to your garage door or gate.

    Erase Programmed Buttons

    • 1). Hold down the two outermost HomeLink buttons.

    • 2). Release the buttons when the indicator light flashes, do not hold the buttons for longer than 30 seconds.

    • 3). The previous programming of the HomeLink buttons has now been erased.
