Do you feel like you are scaring off every guy you like? Are you trying to figure out why you never get a second date? Are you starting to feel that guys are frightened by you? Rejection can be a painful experience, but it is one we all have to face many times throughout life.
If you can't figure out why it seems so difficult to keep a man around, perhaps you should look at the way you act around them.
This article will give you a list of reasons you may be scaring off potential partners.
Pay attention and learn how to keep that guy around! You're Planning Your Wedding on the First Date Okay, so maybe this is an exaggeration, but you might be surprised to realize just how easy it is to make a guy think you're after a long term relationship that he's not ready for.
Avoid talk about the future such as children and long-term plans that would involve a partner.
Avoid even planning your second date until the first one is over! Guys are known to run screaming the second a woman mentions commitment, especially early on in the relationship.
You Expect Him Around Constantly If he doesn't call you every day or text you every hour or see you every night, you get upset.
Sure, new romances are fun and they make you want to spend all of your time with this potential partner, but guys don't necessarily feel the same way.
It's very easy to smother them, even if you're the one expecting the communication.
Understand that he has a life of his own and cannot focus entirely on you all the time! You're Sacrificing Your Personality for His While you may be a people-pleaser who just wants to make him happy, it is all too easy to lose track of who YOU are in that scenario.
It's important to maintain a life and mind of your own.
Exercise your opinions, even if you disagree with him.
Be who you are or he won't even know who he's dating! You Don't Respect Yourself Similar to the point above, lots of women lose the ability to stand up for themselves in a new relationship.
If you don't like the restaurant he picked for dinner, speak up! If you don't want to see that movie or you feel it's important that he spends time with you and your friends but he refuses, lay down the law.
If you just let him walk all over you, one of two things will happen: 1) he will continue to walk all over you and use the situation to his advantage, or 2) he will lose respect for you himself and no longer want to be in a relationship with you.
You Need Constant Reassurance A boyfriend is not a confidence boosting machine.
You need to believe that you are worthwhile and interesting all on your own.
If you're constantly fishing for compliments and begging for his approval with every decision you make, it comes off as pathetic.
Worse, he will start to feel responsible for your self-image, which is an unfair thing to ask of any person.
He will grow weary of always having to reassure you.
Let his compliments come naturally -- they mean more in the end that way, anyway.
