How to Install Baseboard Trim in a Bathroom

    • 1). Measure how much trim you will need to buy. You need enough for the walls, angles, as well as extra trim for cutting mistakes you may make. You also need to decide how high up the wall you want trim to reach.

    • 2). Purchase the trim. Buy the trim pre-cut to the measurements that you need. This is easier than using a compound miter saw to make the angled cuts yourself.

    • 3). Set up the first trim piece into its designated area along the baseboard in the bathroom. It is best to start with the longest wall.

    • 4). Position the baseboard trim on the wall. Attach it with nails. Hammer in a finishing nail every 16 inches. Make sure the nails attach the trim to the wall completely.

    • 5). Install the baseboard trim section adjacent to the first trim that you installed. Continue the process until the bathroom has been completely lined.

    • 6). Apply caulk to the connections where the boards and walls meet. This will close off any gaps that may exist.
