How to Install Insulated Sheathing on Interior Walls
- 1). Measure the height and width of the wall or walls you'll be insulating. Use this information to determine the number of panels you'll need to purchase.
- 2). Place a panel at one corner of your wall. Mark the outer edge of the panel onto the wall with a pencil. Remove the panel. If the panel needs to be trimmed to work around any obstructions, or to fit in the space, place a straight edge onto the panel at the point where it needs to be cut. Draw a utility knife along the straight edge to score the panel. Snap off the excess at the score mark with your hands.
- 3). Lay a bead of construction adhesive on the wall at the desired location. Place the panel against the wall and press it firmly against the adhesive until the panel sticks in place.
- 4). Place your next panel against the first panel. Trim if necessary and apply the panel to the wall with construction adhesive. Continue until you've covered all the wall surfaces.
- 5). Tape over the seams between the panels with vinyl tape. This helps prevent drafts and air seepage.
