    Olive Oil and Water

    • 1). Heat three cups of olive oil in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Don't let the olive oil boil.

    • 2). Remove the oil when you start to see it steam. Pour it into a bowl and dip your fingers in carefully from time to time until it is cool enough to apply to your hair. The hotter the oil, the better the chance it will be able to remove the hair dye.

    • 3). Pour the oil over your hair slowly and massage it into your hair with your fingers. Once you've used all the heated oil, rub a bit of shampoo into your hair.

    • 4). Stand under a very hot shower and lather the shampoo in your hair. Rinse your hair for at least 20 minutes or until the dye stops coloring the water.

    Alcohol and Mineral Oil

    • 1). Apply a 70-percent alcohol solution to your hair using cotton balls. Avoid getting it on your skin. Let it soak in for 10 minutes.

    • 2). Coat your hair with mineral oil. Put a plastic shower cap on your head so that all of your hair is covered.

    • 3). Use a hair dryer to apply heat to your hair for at least 30 minutes.

    • 4). Remove the shower cap and pat shampoo onto your hair to help remove the oil. Stand under a hot shower and lather the shampoo into a foam.

    • 5). Continue shampooing until the oil is off your hair and the water going down the drain turns clear.
