How to Listen to MP3s in a Toyota Tacoma
- 1). Upload Mp3s to a portable Mp3 player.
- 2). Connect the Mp3 player to the Tacoma's tape deck, if it has one, with a cassette tape adapter. These adapters can be purchased at most department and electronics stores. One end is a cassette tape, which is connected to a 1/8-inch audio plug. Insert the plug into the Mp3 player's headphone jack and put the tape into the tape deck.
- 3). Broadcast the Mp3s from the player via an FM transmitter. These types of transmitters will relay the signal from the player's headphone output to the Tacoma's radio antenna. You must first find an "empty" FM station (one that is completely static), then plug the transmitter into the Mp3 player, tune the transmitter to the desired FM station and play the Mp3s normally.
- 4). Install an auxiliary input or Mp3 player integration system. This is a more expensive option, but it also produces the best audio quality and is the most user-friendly. You will probably want to consult with a car audio specialist.
