The Sony KV-36FV1 is a cathode ray tube-based television with a standard definition screen that measures 36 inches diagonally. It has a WEGA Trinitron picture tube, which has a flat front for better picture quality as well as reduced glare, and a range of inputs as well as two tuners for picture-in-picture functionality. - The KV-36FV1 has a Sony FD Trinitron picture tube with a flat screen. Although it measures 38 inches diagonally, its actual viewable area is 36 inches.
- Sony equipped this computer with a number of different interfaces, including three video inputs, two S-video inputs and a single component video input that can accept a 480i signal from a DVD player. It also has four audio inputs as well as audio, monitor and TV outputs. Its three "S-link" outputs and one "S-link" input let you use your TV's remote control to control other compatible Sony components.
- Two stereo speakers come standard with the KV-36FV1. The television set is also equipped with 15 watts per channel of amplification as well as support for SRS enhanced audio and virtual surround.
- This analog television has a standard VHF and UHF tuner which receives standard definition NTSC channels 2-69. It also can tune 125 analog cable channels. It does not, however, have an ATSC high definition tuner and needs a converter box for use with digital television signals.
- As a picture tube TV, this set is quite large and heavy. It measures 39-13/16 inches wide, 30 inches tall and 24-15/16 inches deep and weighs 236 pounds.
