1. He starts to call you up regularly.
One phone call isn't really enough to draw a conclusion on what he is really feeling. Several phone calls suggest that he does probably have some lingering feelings for you. If these happen to be occurring at a somewhat regular pattern - then he probably is thinking about the idea of getting back together. That is the habit of a man who wants to be more than just friends, usually.

Most guys are not going to be bold enough after breaking up to just come right out and say that they want to get back together. He's more likely to want to test things out a bit, by hinting at the idea that he does still care about you and he might even go as far as to say that he still has feelings for you.
