How to Make Glass Ball Ornaments With Paint & Crafts
- 1). Carefully remove the cap of the ornament by pressing the prongs together. Pour a cap-full of rubbing alcohol inside to rinse the glass. Set it upside down in an egg carton to let it dry thoroughly.
- 2). Pick up the ornament and squeeze one drop of paint into the opening of the ball. Tilt so that the paint runs down the side. Rotate and squeeze another drop into the ball. Continue rotating and adding paint until you have three or four lines of paint. Use small drops; there should only be a small amount of paint pooling at the bottom.
- 3). Let dry for five minutes. Add another color between the places that the first colors were added. Let dry and add a third color. Let the glass ball sit in an egg carton as it dries between coats.
- 4). Rotate the ball every five or 10 minutes until the paint is covering the inside. Pour out the excess paint. Rest the ornament in the egg carton overnight. Rotate the ornaments the next day. Continue to swirl the colors as the paint dries over the next several days. Use a hair dryer to speed to process if desired.
- 5). Carefully insert the prongs to replace the cap and hanger. Add a thin ribbon bow to the top for more decoration.
