Pressure Washer

• Used to clean a variety of surface debris from your home's siding, pressure washers generate high water pressure to push the debris off the surface. You can use pressure washers with or without an added cleaning solution. Pressure washers are available for purchase or rent at home improvement stores and tool rental centers.
  
  When using a pressure washer, wear a pair of safety goggles to protect your eyes. Furthermore, do not point the pressure washer at people or pets. The water stream's high level of pressure can cause bodily injury. After you have attached the water hose to the pressure washer, spray the vinyl siding in a horizontal motion beginning at the bottom and slowly working your way to the top. After you have thoroughly rinsed the siding, add the cleaning solution to the canister and reattach back on the washer. Using the same manner as before, spray the cleaning solution on the vinyl siding and rinse clean with a water hose.
  
  

Vinegar

• An inexpensive item found in many homes, vinegar will clean and deodorize a variety of surfaces while killing mold and mildew. Since vinegar is all natural, it will not harm people or animals, and will leave no toxic residue behind. Furthermore, you can use vinegar at a ratio of 30 percent white vinegar and 70 percent water in a pressure washer. If you are washing the vinyl siding by hand, fill a bucket with 1 gallon water and add 2 cups white vinegar. Saturate a scrub brush with an extension handle into the mixture and scrub the siding clean. Once you are satisfied, rinse the vinegar mixture off the vinyl siding with a water hose.
  
  

Oxygen Bleach

• A safe alternative to chlorine bleach, oxygen bleach thoroughly cleans and sanitizes without damaging or discoloring items. Furthermore, oxygen bleach will not harm animals, people or vegetation. Remove the surface dirt from the vinyl by rinsing with your water hose. Then scrub the siding clean with a scrub brush saturated in a mixture of 1 gallon water and 1 cup oxygen bleach before rinsing the vinyl siding once again with the water hose.
  
  

All-Purpose Cleaners

• Common all-purpose cleaners work well to spot clean your vinyl siding. When a small stain appears on your vinyl siding, mist a cloth with an all-purpose cleaner and scrub until the stain is no longer visible. Wipe the cleaner residue off the siding with a damp paper towel. If the siding needs a thorough cleaning, choose a different method.
  
  

Powdered Laundry Detergent

• Many people have at least one item in their home that they can use to clean their vinyl siding, including laundry detergent. Before using the cleaning mixture, make sure the powdered detergent has dissolved completely. Rinse the vinyl siding with a water hose to remove dirt and dust. Scrub the siding with a scrub brush and the cleaning mixture. To reach higher areas of the vinyl siding, attach an extension handle to the scrub brush. If mold or mildew is present on the siding, add 2/3 cup borax to the mixture.
