Anyone who has not tried a Sudoku or certainly had a go at one probably wonders what all the fuss is about over a numbers game.
The truth is I used to have a very similar opinion, that was until I actually sat down and with one and had a go (obviously I had to read a bit to find out what was involved in solving one), but I have to say that once I had got the basics out of the way there was simply no stopping me, great fun and even today I still have my Sudoku time.
It is like an escape or even therapy...
This may sound strange as it is a puzzle system that predominately uses brain capacity, but while in the world of Sudoku I rarely think of anything else hence therapy.
Another positive point about these amazing little puzzles is that there are a now a good variety so as to suit a multitude of tastes, within the varieties there are ladders to climb for different levels of achievement, but obviously with every new level we accomplish the knowledge and understanding to progress alters slightly so that we still feel rewarded.
One of the really good things about attempting to solve these puzzles is that there is always room for improvement and no matter how good we get the knowledge to help solve them is always an additional target that in some cases takes a bit of additional research to locate.
There are always philosophies and possibilities bantered around, but finding the right information that is beneficial and reliable used to be as consuming as the puzzles themselves.
This should not sway anyone from entering into a world of Sudoku as you will soon discover that once each piece of the jigsaw puzzle is explained in a manner that is easy to understand it becomes like a light bulb being lit in your brain.
The further forward you go the greater the reward feels for solving them.
We all need a little help no matter how good we become.
Learn the basics and the rest will be much easier to take on-board.
