    • 1). Charge the battery of your Creative Zen player before attempting a reset. To charge the Zen battery, plug in the USB cable provided with the Zen to the port on the bottom of the device and plug the USB end of the cord into a USB port on your computer. Turn the computer on, and phantom power from the computer charges the Zen's battery.

    • 2). Try to reset the Zen using the built-in reset feature on some Zen players, such as the Vision:M. To reset a player with the built-in reset feature, press the "Menu" button at the lower right, scroll down to "System" and press the big button to select it, and then scroll to "Reset" and select it. The Zen resets to factory settings.

    • 3). Use the external reset button if the built-in reset feature didn't work, or if your Zen doesn't have the reset function. First, locate the small hole on the bottom of the Zen. Push the tip of a pin into the hole to push the reset button inside and return the Zen to its factory settings.
