How to Update Microsoft Windows 2000 to Microsoft Windows XP
- 1). Boot up your computer and log in to Windows 2000. Put your Windows XP CD into the computer and wait for the welcome screen to pop up.
- 2). Click on the "Install Windows XP" button, then click on the "Upgrade" option.
- 3). Click "Next," check the "I agree" option, and click "Next." Enter your Windows XP product key and then click the "Next" button again.
- 4). Click the "Get updated setup files" option if you are connected to the Internet, then click "Next."
- 5). Click "Next" a final time to start the upgrade process. This can take an hour or more to complete, so be patient. Once the process is finished, you can log in to your newly updated computer.
